To all FFHL Players, I've received reports from officials & players following recent games involving player ejections for abuse of officials & a series of infractions (e.g. cross checks, slashes, elbows) that were not called including goalie interference. This needs to stop NOW! This is not what this league is about. None of us need to experience an injury that takes us out of work or worse. The NHL & Team Canada are not going to call so settle it down. For those of you who have shown restraint & not escalated the situation, thank you. For those who continue to play "over the edge", we may not wait for officials to intervene with a game misconduct before advising that your behaviour warrants a "time out" (e.g. suspension). At start of the season, a Player Code of Conduct was posted on the league site for all to read. Basically, if you step on the ice for a FFHL game, you have agreed to the Code of Conduct. If you have not read the Code of Conduct or do not adhere to it, that is on you & you are still accountable for your behaviour on/off ice. You can't stop every on-ice rush coming your way & you'll miss some of those one-timers, just like the officials may miss some calls or decide the situation did not warrant a penalty. The officials are there to help keep it civil but it starts with you & your teammates. Doug, FFHL Commissioner
