FFHL Dan Adam Sportsmanship Award

Happy New Year to all players!

The Canadian Men's Olympic Hockey roster was recently announced. Once again, no one from the FFHL made the cut but we're looking forward to the second half of our league's winter season!

The FFHL will establish the Dan Adam Sportsmanship Award dedicated to the memory of Dan Adam. Dan played several seasons in the FFHL, exemplifying the elements of good sportsmanship and earning the respect of teammates, opponents and officials. Dan passed away early in 2025. With the kind permission of the Adam family, the Dan Adam Sportsmanship Award will be presented each regular season to a member of our hockey league who best demonstrates the elements of sportsmanship: respect, positive attitude and teamwork.

Sportsmanship Award Criteria
Respect
• Treats opponents and officials with respect and courtesy
• Plays with integrity and demonstrates the attitude of “win with humility, lose with grace”
• Shows respect for decisions of officials, even when difficult

Positive Attitude
• Displays a positive and friendly attitude both on and off ice
• Engages in courteous and cooperative behaviour with other teams

Teamwork
• Provides leadership and encouragement to teammates
• Acts as a positive role model for others

How to Nominate?
• Each team will submit one nominee to the Commissioner no later than February 28, 2026.

Thanks,

Doug
