I know we are not suppose to yell and haul at the ref's but...the one from the 8-9 game last night should be ''kicked'' out . it took him 30 seconds to drop the puck last night with less than a minute to go.
ohhhhhhhh and did I forget about his calls!! We had to tell him there was a penalty.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
However, to the ref's defense...the Flames...come on guys...stop taking your sweet F%$%"/@ time to change lines after the whistle.................
For next year...they shouldnt be line changes allowed between whistles except for goals or the option ..you have 5 seconds to go to the faceoff circle if not there...the ref drops the puck.
My 2 cents....again. |

Wow, You caught us. That was our plan. I pay the refs so we get preferential treatment. You should know that by now. You've been with us for all three seasons so you KNOW that the team I am on ALWAYS gets the better calls. Plus we talked in the room before the game that if we get the lead we will slooooow down our line changes. (FYI you can INSERT the sarcasm throughout that whole parargaph.)
Anyways onto your concerns about the officials. I do agree that the ref was not the sharpest on the calls. But what can we do about that? I did what everyone asked of me last season. We needed refs to help the flow of the game. ALSO I do have in place a quick face off rule to help the game along. But for some reason the refs do not follow it too closely. This I will rectify today.
Anyways all in all the game was fun and fast and I really do not have any complaints. The game could have gone either way. That is what I have wanted from the start of the season.
I do appreciate your feedback and your thoughts and I will look into the quick face off rule and why it has not been applied through most of the games. I do know that in a few of our games it has been used to our advantage and to our disadvantage.

Serious though, Brian, that guy we have had all year is absolutely terrible...I'm not gonna single out our team, but when you start calling phantom goals against us and disallowing goals for us, and stopping play when we have control of the puck cause he THINKS the goalie has it ( THOUGH THE PUCK IS IN OUR POSSESSION IN THE CORNER), among many other calls (and non calls), well you might have heard that I finally lost it with him the other night..The guy is in a serious power trip. I remember early in the season where Nick got tripped up in the corner pretty good, non call, then accused Nick of Diving....and gave him an unsportsmanlike. I really would like to know tis guys credentials on officiating, because he so far he has shown mew nothing that he even has a clue to referee a chess game..
My Rant. I'm sure it was forthcoming to many |

I am not surprised that you chimed in. I knew Kevin would have had a thread this morning right after the game. My spidy senses were tingling. But anyways what would you like me to do? As far as I know these guys ref all year long in other leagues and tournaments? Is there another spot to go for officials? I am being serious. I really do not know. I spoke to a couple of guys and they are all supposed to be accredited officials. Maybe they are letting more go because of the style of game? I really dont have any idea. BUT on the flip side I did not want the officials to dictate the outcome of the game. If you guys have any ideas I will listen. AS you know from year one I take all criticism as an opprotunity. Unless its about my Crosby-esque style of hocke I play. If you or anyone else has an idea or how to dictate who is a better official I will look at that for next season. I am all for making this better for next season.

Rules 101
1) If the net is off. No goal. 2) If the goalie is covering the puck. Definitely no goal. Blow your whistle. 3) If the net is off while the goalie is covering the puck ........
He seems like he means well tho. |

Rules 101 sub section b
1) IF the puck is in before the net is off its a goal 2) IF the goalie thinks he has it covered but doesn't.. dont blow the whistle 3) If the goalie thinks he has the puck but doesnt and the nets off ......
I am not in a position to say what happened. I was on the bench and got two sides of the story. The Flames side which of course is "it was in" and the Ice Dogs "Net was off". Either way not much can be done about it at this point. We will run with what we have and hope that they can make the games as fair as possible. |

oh...rule xyz...if the puck hits the goalie mask.. play is dead...how many times..including last game ..that Mike received a puck on the mask.
anyway..its hard for the ref's to see everything..but ...I think, like all of us did..they should read the rules. |

My two cents. Easy as one two three. Get overhead cameras and we can make a call to go upstairs. This will certainly make everyone happy.

As far as line changes, maybe make the last 3 mins of game stop time, and break down the games to 53 mins straight time.
As far as refs for next year, I can inquire as to a few who ref our league, and see if they are interested. Someone also has to remind him that this is not the NHL he's doing, and to ease up on his power trip. |

My favorite 2 calls this year....
Puck is sitting in the back of the net, ref skates around the net and calls no goal because of "intent to blow the whistle" since he thought the goalie had it covered. Then the very next game, shot from the point trickles through the goalies pads, ref blows it down because he thinks the goalie has it covered then watches it trickle over the line 2-3s after and calls it a goal. Why? Because the shot was before he blew the whistle.
